Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced senior accountant with a background in manufacturing to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for the general ledger, direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, support ERP system implementation, and support departmental staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out month-end close duties, such as analyzing financial transactions in the general ledger, submitting manual journal entries and preparing account reconciliations.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as needed, such as data collection, compilation, reporting and process automation and presentation, etc.
- Review of manufacturing processes, cost of materials, and variance analysis.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Company’s general accounting and other policies and procedures are appropriately and consistently applied.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate account analyses and reconciliations, and assessing adequacy of balances and opportunities for improvement.
- Effectively review P&L and balance sheet trends to assess, investigate, and concisely report on variances, correct errors, and propose accruals/deferrals.
- Responsible for developing an understanding of the company’s business model to communicate effectively to Controller and VP Finance regarding issues identified in reporting.
- Responsible for assisting with the implementation of the ERP system and developing an understanding to perform data mining and custom ad-hoc reporting tasks, as assigned.
- Work as a team with general accounting staff and management to succeed as a team in fun, fast paced environment to accomplish monthly routine cycle financial statements, compliance and tax reporting, annual audit, and ad-hoc projects.
- Work with other general accounting, billing, payroll, and payables staff on various issues, tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional-level general accounting experience in increasing responsibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong understanding of multi-relational databases / ERP package structure required, NetSuite a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with accounting software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Energized by a growing, dynamic, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in using MRP/ERP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Must possess strong analytical skills.
- Must have the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability to be very customer service oriented, with the ability to professionally interact with all levels.
- Must be able to work extended long hours if workload requires to get work done. May be asked to work weekends and Holidays.
- This position requires flexibility due to the different time zones and locations of partners.
