Meet Karla Dickson, Planning Manager at Hyper Solutions

It’s only been six weeks since Karla Dickson joined Hyper Solutions as our Planning Manager, but she’s already made her mark. With a strong background in manufacturing and a passion for process, Karla jumped in with curiosity, confidence, and a clear focus on driving results.

A Career Sparked by Curiosity

Karla’s interest in manufacturing started early – long before her first job. “Since I was a kid, I spent summers and weekends working at my dad’s manufacturing company,” she says. “I loved watching the process unfold, from design to the finished product. Seeing how every person and small detail added value inspired me to pursue a career in planning.”

She got her start in Production Planning at Eaton more than a decade ago and has continued down that path ever since, taking on increasingly strategic roles across various manufacturing environments. When the opportunity at Hyper came along, it felt that the right next step. “It aligned perfectly with both my experience and long-term goals.”

A Culture That Clicks

Even in a short time, Karla has felt the energy that sets Hyper apart. “The people, the culture of teamwork, and the innovative mindset. Everyone is focused on solutions, and there’s a real drive to grow – both individually and as a company,” she shares.

Outside The Lines

When she’s not at work, Karla enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and playing board games. She also loves hosting get-togethers at home, saying it’s her favorite way to unwind and connect with people.

Outside of hosting, Karla’s go-to hobbies include crafting and cooking – especially creamy, comforting recipes. And if there’s music playing? She’s probably dancing. “I love salsa dancing! I like to think I’m pretty good at it – just ask my friends,” she says with a laugh.

Karla says she felt empowered from day one. “I’ve been encouraged to contribute and take ownership from the beginning. New ideas are welcomed here – it keeps me motivated.”

Her advice for new team members? “Be proactive and stay curious. Hyper rewards initiative, and there’s always someone willing to help you grow.”

On The Horizon

Karla’s excited about what’s ahead – not just at Hyper, but in life. A dream trip to Italy is high on her list, drawn in by the food, the history, and the scenery. “The architecture, the landscapes, and obviously the pasta,” she says.

When it comes to food, though, her ideal plate is already figured out: “Rice with corn, cordon blue chicken with lots of béchamel sauce, Dominican fried plantains, and passion fruit juice.” (Honestly? We’d take a seat at that table.)

And here’s something you might not expect – Karla once worked as a preschool English teacher. “It was the hardest job I’ve ever had,” she laughs. “I have so much respect for teachers. That experience taught me patience, adaptability, and how to think on my feet – skills I still use every day.”
